    He was born in 1878 in Kharkiv area, studied at Kharkiv agriculture school, later at Kharkiv veterinary institute.
    The start of his literature activity was in 1905-1907. It was difficult for him to accept the ideas of the Revolution of 1917.

VOLODYMYR VINNYCHENKO

    Volodymyr Vinnychenko was born on July 26, 1880 in the village Vesely Kut in Kherson area.
    Died in 1951 in France.
    His life was extremely tragic and hard. While studying at the Kyiv University he was very active
    in different students' movements. As a result he was arrested, sent to the army but managed
    to escape.....
    Besides being a talented writer he was one of the leaders of Tsentralna Rada. Vinnychenko was
    even offered the position of People's Comissar of Foreign Affairs of the Ukrainian People's Republic.
    Instead he became an emmigrant who felt strong pain living far from his Motherland...

     It is very little known about this Ukrainian poet who used to live in Lviv.

    His life was short but bright. He died at the age of 28. And after his death his name
    disappeared from Ukrainian literature. Only now the books by Antonych came back to us.
    He now occupies his rightful place in Ukrainian poetry.
    Now we can enjoy his poems. In them he is singing the glory to life and human being...
