    Lesya Ukrainka is the pen-name of  Larysa P. Kosach (1871-1913).
    The Ukrainian national poetess Lesya Ukrainka has contributed greatly to the development of Ukrainian Modernism.
    Her poetry is very much pro-Ukrainian and aimed against any kind of supression and despotism.
    She is very famous all over the world.
    Her literature works were translated into dozens languages.
    This is Russian translation of her poetic works.

ENEIDA

    It has been for two hundred years that the readers are enchanted with the Ukrainian "Eneida" written by
    Ivan Kotlyarevsky. "
    Eneida" is a satiric poem. In it Kotlyarevsky continued the traditions of old Ukrainian comic verses.
    Kotlyarevsky was inspired by the Latin poem of Verhily and transformed it into comic poem. He used a number
    of details and even some expressions from Verhily's poem but created his own literature work.
    The main character Eney and his crowd were very much alike Zaporizhya cossacks. The poet glorifies cossack
    valour and courage. Eney is also shown as a fearless warrior and experienced military leader.
    Sympathy to cossacks sounds throughout the poem...

    Volume 1 contains all famous works of poetry, poems, legends
    Volume 2 contains drama works
    Volume 3 contains drama works and prose
    Volume 4 contains poetic translations and articles
    Volume 5 contains letters
    The works are submitted in chronological order. In the appendix different variants of the works are given.
    In the notes short information about the sources is given. There is information about life and creative activity of
    Lesya Ukrainka. All the texts are authentic.
