New York, NY (UCCA) - After a long hiatus, the Executive Board of the
Ukrainian Congress Committee of America has decided to renew its regular
Internet chats to have an opportunity to discuss a wide array of topics, as
well as restore direct contact with the community by means of electronic
communication. The Internet chats will take place on the first Wednesday
of every month at 1 p.m. ET. This year's first Internet chat will take
place on February 5, 2003.
The subject of discussion will include preparations for the 70th
commemoration of Ukrainian Famine-Genocide, means by which the
Ukrainian community can observe this tragic chapter in Ukraine's history,
efforts to build a monument to the victims of the Ukrainian Famine-Genocide
in Washington, D.C., as well as possible ways of introducing the topic of
Ukrainian Famine-Genocide in U.S. high schools. Interested individuals are
requested to log onto the UCCA webpage at (http://www.ucca.org/chat, room 1)
Furthermore, on the UCCA webpage you also will be able to find various
information regarding activities of our organization. The webpage contains
information regarding various projects and publications of the UCCA, news
from Ukraine (both in English and Ukrainian), a forum you're your thoughts
and ideas, news from the life of the Ukrainian American community, and the
