Invitation for new articles, documents, book reviews, archival material

ANNOUNCEMENT AND INVITATION TO SUBMIT

Kyiv, Ukraine..February 6, 2003...ArtUkraine.com...In the fall of 2003, the CANADIAN-AMERICA SLAVIC STUDIES, published by Charles Schlacks, Jr., will issue a special edition of the journal to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Famine (Holodomor), 1932-1933.

The SLAVIC STUDIES journal is interested in finding and publishing new articles, academic papers, documents, book reviews, and other archival materials related to the tragic 1932-1933 Ukrainian Famine-Holodomor.

The Canadian-American Slavic Studies publishes in Ukrainian, Russian, English, French, or German so submissions can be accepted in any of those languages. Interested persons from around the world are invited and encouraged to participate. It is especially important to have submissions directly from persons in Ukraine who were not allowed to write and submit such documents during the Soviet Ukraine period.

The invitation for submissions is open to anyone who has credible and reliable material to submit such as graduate students, professors, independent scholars, researchers, archivists, historians and those with personal knowledge of the famine. Please submit graduate papers with a letter of recommendation from the relevant professor stating how the paper contributes to the historiography of the great Ukrainian Famine.

Please use the Chicago Manual of Style. All citations should be placed at the bottom of the pages, not as endnotes. All book citations should include the publishers' names as well as the place and date of publication.

The deadline for all submissions is June 30, 2003.

All manuscripts submitted for consideration should be sent to:

Ms. Cheryl Madden, Guest Editor
Canadian-American Slavic Studies
